A deputy calls for activating the general amnesty law to prevent a catastrophe

Today, Thursday, Adel Khamis Al-Mahlawi, a member of the House of Representatives, called for activating [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/1161/%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%88%D9%86 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D9%81%D9%88 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%85]the general amnesty law,[/url] expanding its outputs, and expediting its implementation procedures to ensure [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/145457/%D8%A7%D8%B7%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%82 %D8%B3%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AD %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%A8%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%A1]the release of innocents,[/url] who constitute at least 70% of the minimum prisoners.
In a statement to him, Al-Mahlawi said, "In line with the policy adopted by the ministerial crisis cell to confront the Corona epidemic to mitigate human gatherings and deal with the danger posed to prisoners, we call on the three presidencies and the Supreme Judicial Council to accelerate the implementation of the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/1161/%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%88%D9%86 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D9%81%D9%88 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%85]general amnesty law[/url] and expand its outputs and expedite the implementation procedures in a manner that guarantees [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/145457/%D8%A7%D8%B7%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%82 %D8%B3%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AD %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%A8%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%A1]the release of Innocent people,[/url] who constitute at least 70% as a minimum of the prisoners, especially those whose charges and evidence have not been completed and have not been sentenced. ”
He added, “Moving immediately to take the alternative legal measures stipulated in Iraqi law, such as clearing the way, with known judicial measures such as placing under house arrest, or releasing on a personal or real estate guarantee to prevent a catastrophic catastrophe that kills prisoners and to reduce the opportunity for prisons to turn into hotspots for the new Corona virus and as a matter of necessity.” Prohibitions are permitted, bearing in mind that the amnesty does not include terrorists, murderers, and the theft of public funds, since we are not dealing with them. On a personal level, I know dozens of innocent prisoners.
