The Norwegian company, DNO, operating oil and gas in the Kurdistan Region, announced that it has received a net amount of 42.2 million dollars for the company from the regional government, of which 31.9 million US dollars represents the company's share due in January 2021 to deliver crude oil for export.
DNO said in a statement, “The marketing was from the Tawke field license in Kurdistan, and there was $ 4.3 million in overpayment equivalent to three percent of the total field licensing revenues under the receivables settlement agreement in August 2017 and $ 6.2 million dollars. For a payment of the company's arrears amounting to 259 million dollars for previous bills.
She added that “monthly benefits and overrun payments were suspended early last year by the Kurdistan Regional Government, which was affected by the decline in oil revenues and the economic turmoil caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, and after a four-month hiatus, payments of entitlements were resumed in March 2020 and overrun payments have now resumed. With a batch of January 2021 ».
She pointed out that «the arrears payment is the first payment to be received under the Kurdistan Regional Government’s plan, as of January 2021, and if average Brent prices in any month exceed $ 50 per barrel, half of the additional export revenues will be paid to the Tawke field partners and will be shared proportionally. With their interests in the license ».
It is reported that DNO has a 75 percent stake in the Tawke field, along with Turkey's Genel Energy.
