, President of the Kurdistan region, Nechirvan Barzani, on Saturday, called on the Baghdad government to build joint forces.
Barzani said, in a statement received by Mawazine News, a copy of it: “At 12:30 last night, an armed group of ISIS terrorists in the axis west of Kirkuk launched an attack by Kurdish Peshmerga forces, near the village of Qaya Bashi, in Bardi district in Kirkuk governorate, which resulted in an attack. On the martyrdom of 3 Peshmerga forces who defended valiantly until they were martyred, my condolences to the three Peshmerga families who were martyred, and I wish a speedy recovery for the wounded. "
He added, "We have warned the Iraqi federal government and the international coalition against ISIS several times about the danger of the increase in the strength of ISIS, taking advantage of the security vacuum in the disputed areas, and the attack of ISIS last night on the axis of the Peshmerga coincided with several other attacks by ISIS."
Barzani added, "Here I call on the parliament, the Iraqi federal government and the international coalition against ISIS, to accelerate work to form a joint force between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army in the disputed areas, so that those areas are not used as corridors for the movement of ISIS terrorists again, because they pose a great danger to the Kurdistan Region." And Iraq as a whole is a threat to the security of the region and the world.
