    Today, Sunday, the Integrity Commission announced the results of its investigation of the high prices of food and crops, while it indicated that it monitored the lack of tight control over the region's ports
    In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the commission stated that it “called for addressing the legislative deficiency that left a vacuum in tightening control over the pricing of foodstuffs and agricultural crops by restructuring the General Authority for Agricultural Marketing, which is canceled according to the amendment of the Ministry of Agriculture Law No. (10) of 2013. ; Which has negatively affected the pricing of the citizen's food basket.
    She added, "The work team of the Prevention Department at the authority confirmed, in a report prepared by the visits to the Ministries of Agriculture and Trade and meeting with officials in them, and the importance of a government agency assuming the responsibility of organizing the marketing of food products and agricultural crops in order to achieve a state of balance to meet the market needs for consumption. And export the surplus, in coordination with the responsible authorities and directorates of agriculture in the provinces.
    She added that "the report sent copies of it to the Prime Minister, Parliamentary Integrity Committee, offices of the Ministers of Agriculture, Trade and Interior, and the head of the Border Ports Authority, indicated the need for coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture and the regional government regarding adherence to the dates for preventing the entry of fruits and vegetables issued by the Ministry of Agriculture (the agricultural calendar), because of their Of the effects on the protection of the local product, pointing out that “the region’s outlets do not abide by the banning decisions issued by the ministry regarding the implementation of the (agricultural calendar), and the lack of tight control over the outlets affiliated to it; This leads to an infusion of commodities into the market. "
    And she continued, "The Ministry of Agriculture has opened imports for some crops whose prices have risen, and has not issued a list of banning fruit crops," adding that "the Ministry of Trade has taken a number of measures to address the high prices of foodstuffs, in addition to the Commercial and Financial Supervision Department of the Ministry of Trade, in coordination with The Organized Crime Directorate at the Ministry of Interior conducts field tours to check prices in the local market, according to the prime minister's directive.
    She pointed out that "the report urges monitoring local markets, issuing a daily bulletin with agricultural products prices, following up on the abundance and scarcity of the product, monitoring crops entering the markets, in addition to taking legal measures against some of the control affiliates who blackmail transporters of food and agricultural products, as this causes an increase in prices." ".
