{Economic: Al Furat News} The Border Ports Authority announced that it had seized and thwarted an attempt to cheat, manipulate and waste public money with more than 7 million dinars.
A statement by the commission, of which {Euphrates News} received a copy, stated, "The efforts of the Border Ports Authority continue to confront fraud and manipulation attempts and prevent attempts to waste public money, as the northern port of Umm Qasr port was able to seize a container outside the customs campus at the search and investigation gate."
He added, "Through detection and audit procedures, it was found that it contained unauthorized materials, and it was referred to the existence of fraud in the customs declaration, which caused a waste of public money in an amount estimated at more than 7 million dinars."
He pointed out, "Organizing a fundamentalist seizure report and referring it to the investigating judge to take legal measures against negligent people."
