Al-Halbousi announces the payment of farmers' dues and the increase in the purchase prices of crops

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi announced, on Saturday, the payment of farmers’ dues, while confirming the move to increase the purchase prices of crops.
A statement by the Media Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, which was seen by "Economy News", stated that "Al-Halbousi, during a meeting attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes, Representative Salam Al-Shammari, Minister of Agriculture and Deputy Minister of Trade, announced the payment of farmers' dues for wheat, barley and rye crops to all farmers throughout Iraq, including the dues of farmers for previous years in the liberated cities.
Al-Halbousi stressed, according to the statement, "to proceed with the implementation of the provisions of paragraph (c) of Article 50 of the budget law, which stipulates: (The Council of Ministers must increase the current prices for the purchase of wheat and barley crops from farmers by 50 thousand dinars per ton), due to the need to support farmers and develop This sector and dealing with the collateral damage that afflicted this vital sector as a result of the change in the exchange rate of the dollar.”
