Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Electricity announced the start of implementing the pre-emptive plan for the winter season.
A ministry statement received by the National News Center stated that “the Director General of the General Company for Baghdad Electricity Distribution, Engineer Hussein Atta Dahesh Al-Zubaidi, chaired an expanded meeting that included the directors of the branches, the departments of control, communications, planning, technical and sales.”
During the meeting, which was held at the company’s headquarters, the general manager stressed the start, according to the statement, “to implement the company’s proactive plan for the coming winter, based on the data recorded for each feeder in the network, as part of a wide campaign to cut down trees intertwined with the electrical network, pull wires, modify tilted columns, maintain transformers and special protection devices. It is carried out by specialized teams around the clock.
He stressed that "the follow-up to the programmed maintenance of box stations and distribution stations within the geographical area of the company in order to contribute to reducing the problems faced by the electrical network in bad weather."
For his part, he directed to raise the pace of collection and intensify efforts by engaging the largest possible number of metrology readers and conducting a periodic evaluation of them within the geographical area of the company, and urging citizens to continue to pay collection fees as the only source for advancing the reality of the electrical network.
The general manager of the company also listened to a detailed explanation by the attendees of a number of requirements, proposals and obstacles in order to stand on them and overcome them in the service of the public interest.
