BAGHDAD - The INA
held the Ministry of Oil National Oil Company on Saturday, a meeting of search several files , including ways to strengthen the proven reserves of oil and gas.
The ministry stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the National Oil Company held a meeting headed by Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, head of the company, and in the presence of the two vice presidents and members of the board," noting that "the meeting's agenda included a discussion of the mechanisms for updating the national energy strategy for 2015". And in line with the directions and plans of the national oil in developing the oil industry in Iraq, and the changes and expectations in the global energy markets.
The statement added: "Also, in this meeting, the company's plans to increase exploratory drilling activity were discussed in order to increase and enhance the proven reserves of oil and gas."
He continued: "In order to accelerate the development of the crutch gas field in the Western Desert in Anbar Governorate, the meeting discussed plans to directly operate the crutch gas field by the national effort as a first stage to enhance gas supplies, and in preparation for attracting global investments in this framework."
He pointed out that "the meeting was attended by the company's vice presidents, board members and officials of oil companies."
