Al-Fartousi told Al Furat News that: "Work with Al-Faw water continues and the project will be integrated after the completion of the dry canal designs, and the ports are among the most important ports through which the most important operations take place, including what is planned for the Al-Faw port project to be the largest sub-transit station across the sea."
"This station will change the direction of the maritime administration through the city of Al-Faw towards Turkey and Syria, using the dry canal, which today has become its first passage, the highway, and we have reached good stages of implementation," he added.
Al-Fartousi explained, "The highway is 63 km long from Al-Faw to Umm Qasr. Therefore, Al-Faw port will become an integrated project after signing the complete designs for the dry canal by an Italian company during the next few days, and we look at it as one of the doors to improving the Iraqi economy."
"The Iraqi government and the previous parliament support this project, and we expect unlimited support from the next parliament and the new government, and it will be completed ahead of time," he stressed.
