A member of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ali Hussein Al-Fatlawi, revealed, on Tuesday, the existence of US-Gulf plans that are trying to obstruct Iraq's link to the Silk Road Economic Project.
Al-Fatlawi told the agency, "The Information", that "Iraq today is at stake, either to be on a date for an economic breakthrough through the FAO project, the Silk Road project and global trade that enters and exits the country to be a major tourist and commercial facility, or it is in an unenviable position, which is to return to zero or the poorest.
He added, "There are US-Gulf regional plans that are working to achieve the second point of extreme poverty, and Iraq cannot rise again in any field, especially the economic one, and try to obstruct all attempts to complete the Silk Road and FAO project."
Hussein pointed out, “The extension of the Aqaba oil pipeline costs Iraq more than 28 billion dollars, and what was announced was only 8 billion dollars, and its profits are paid within 50 years, so it is a failed project. Instead of these huge sums, it was better for the government to complete the FAO project and stand.” Against all foreign schemes that try to end the country economically.”
A member of the Al-Fateh Alliance called, “the upcoming Iraqi government and the new leaders of the political process to advance the economic reality and try to move forward with the Silk Road and FAO project if they are really capable of advancing the country.” End /25R
