Shafaq News/ Iranian customs spokesman, Ruhollah Latifi, announced on Wednesday that during the past 11 months, more than 28 million tons of goods worth 8 billion and 222 million dollars were exported to Iraq.
Latifi said in a statement carried by the semi-official Iranian Mehr Agency, that: Many commonalities between the governments of Iran and Iraq have caused the country's non-oil exports to increase from $145 million in 2002 to $9 billion in 2020, and once again we expect to increase the amount for this. general.
He added that Iran's exports to Iraq in 2002 were about 145 million dollars, and in 2006 we witnessed the first jump of one billion and 224 million dollars, and in the following years it reached two billion and 762 million dollars, and the second jump occurred in 2010 with exports amounting to 4 billion and 560 million dollars.
Latifi also pointed out that the third jump was in 2013, as Iran's exports amounted to 6 billion and 337 million dollars this year, and the last jump in 2019 was 8 billion and 990 million dollars, and Iranian non-oil exports are still taking place on this path.
Regarding imports from Iraq, the Iranian customs spokesman said: "Iran's imports from Iraq over the 11 months of the Iranian year amounted to more than one billion dollars, which exceeds Iran's imports from Iraq in the past twenty years."
He stressed that the implementation of the agreement and the complete transportation of goods between the two countries, the command of the border unit, exports and appropriate packaging, production planning based on target markets and the production of more goods to meet the country's needs through Iraq can expand trade between the two countries.
