[size=45]The Minister of Trade, Alaa Al-Jubouri, described the rise in prices in the Iraqi markets as “artificial,” stressing the start of distributing the ration card items starting today, Tuesday, while indicating that he had obtained promises from Parliament to increase the financial allocation to provide the food basket for the citizen.[/size]
[size=45]Al-Jubouri said in a press conference in the House of Representatives, which was followed by (Al-Mada), that "the ministry diagnosed the total obstacles related to the rise in prices, and we found great parliamentary support in distributing the ration card."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Jubouri added, "A message of reassurance that we send to the Iraqi citizen that the Ministry of Trade will start receiving and distributing foodstuffs today, Tuesday."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out, "We will start field tours accompanied by the media to the agents," stressing that "Parliament has promised us to provide financial allocations on an ongoing basis and we bear full responsibility for delivering food items on a monthly basis."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Jubouri stated, "The large purchase is unnecessary by the citizens; Because the ration card items will arrive periodically.”[/size]
[size=45]He stressed, "The need for the private sector to work as a contributor in these circumstances and to be supportive to ensure low prices, as there is a great responsibility on everyone that the citizen's strength is a red line that is dealt with through cooperation and prevailing dialogue."[/size]
[size=45]He continues, "The ministry's continuation of food distribution would contribute to price stability, and therefore there would be no need to go to the markets."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Jubouri added, "We will have a plan to include some materials that have experienced a rise in prices according to the citizen's need, and therefore there will be complete stability in the markets."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out, "The Ministry of Commerce thanks the House of Representatives for the great support that we have seen in the past few days in the ration card file."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Jubouri continues, "Some traders are currently withdrawing, storing and selling materials. Otherwise, how can the rise be so fast?"[/size]
[size=45]He stated, "The current indicators indicate that the price hike is artificial and temporary, and this comes in conjunction with some rise in the global stock exchange as a result of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Jubouri added, "The government is looking for other countries that have goods to feed the markets with the required materials, and thus prices will return to normal."[/size]
[size=45]For his part, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hakim Al-Zamili stated in the conference, "Parliament has reassurance through the proposal made by the Minister of Commerce to provide two food rations and before the month of Ramadan."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Zamili added, "Al-Jubouri pledged to distribute vocabulary monthly, while the Ministry of Finance, in turn, pledged to raise trade allocations to support the ration card."[/size]

[size=45]During the past days, the Iraqi markets witnessed a clear rise in prices, which many observers attributed to the international events between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the change in the exchange rate and the Corona pandemic.[/size]
