The Minister of Agriculture, Muhammad Karim Al-Khafaji, announced that the Ministerial Economic Council approved the agricultural calendar, while noting that Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency with 12 agricultural items.
Al-Khafaji said, "The Cabinet formed an emergency committee to open imports in general," noting that "the Ministerial Economic Council approved the agricultural calendar and it will be discussed in the cabinet session next week."
He added, "We have achieved self-sufficiency with 12 agricultural items," stressing that "it was agreed with the Kurdistan Region to enter the materials according to the agricultural calendar."
He added, "There is a strategic plan to preserve the agricultural sector."
