[size=45]The General Coordinator of the Democratic Movement, Lawyer Zuhair Zia al-Din, said on Wednesday that the Federal Supreme Court has set a date for pleading in the lawsuit filed by the Democratic Movement, represented by the Iraqi Communist Party and the Iraqi Nation Party, against the Speaker of Parliament, “in addition to his job.”[/size]
[size=45]In a statement to the Media Center of the Iraqi Communist Party, Zia El-Din stated, "The Federal Court has set Sunday 5/6/2022, as the date for pleading in Case 110 / Federal / 2022, which was filed against the Speaker of the House of Representatives, for the Council's reluctance to complete the constitutional dues by electing a President of the Republic according to The provisions of Article (72 / first / b) of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq, which constituted a violation of the Constitution.[/size]
[size=45]He added that "the legal department in the House of Representatives submitted a list of answers to the lawsuit petition, which included the failure to verify the provisions of Article (6) of the House of Representatives' internal system in the plaintiffs' necessity to have a direct and immediate interest in filing the lawsuit, and that there is real and direct damage to them as they indicated in their list. The answer is to the decision of the Federal Supreme Court in the case.[/size]
[size=45]Zia El-Din stated that “the lawsuit’s petition made it clear that the plaintiffs, in their legal capacity, head political parties that include large sectors of society under their banner. Pointing out that "a response list will be submitted by us in this regard."[/size]
