On Monday, the Iraqi Ministry of Finance expressed its condemnation of the actions taken by a number of members of Parliament, and the allegations that they were prevented from receiving them while they entered the ministry, according to a statement by the ministry.
The statement stated that "what was stated by the allegations of some deputies regarding the lack of response by the ministry officials is inaccurate, as we categorically deny that Minister Dr. Ali Allawi gave any instructions to prevent their entry, and that the entry of the deputies was in the last hour of the official working hours."
He added that “resorting to options for disseminating false information and visits to official departments is a clear violation of the circular of the Presidency of the House of Representatives, which includes a reference to Article 15 second of the House of Representatives Law and its formations No. 18 of 2018, which stipulates following fundamentalist contexts when conducting communications for legislative and oversight purposes, and not Reviewing ministries, departments, institutions and bodies.
He pointed out that “the Ministry of Finance is a sovereign ministry that provides a public service, and its reform measures contributed to crossing the country to safety after the crisis that swept the world following the Corona pandemic and the drop in oil prices, and the ministry is keen to guarantee the rights of all segments of society and the fragile classes in particular, and made an effort to request Parliament to include Allocations for graduates of health professions with its book No. 13699 on 6/6/ 2022 within the Food Security Law along with their fellow lecturers and social welfare benefits.
The statement stressed that the Ministry of Finance respects “the privileges granted to members of Parliament, especially immunity from legal procedures in their pursuit of their duties, but this immunity must be balanced with the greater responsibility of not misusing it and not a license to pursue personal agendas, and we would like to stress that the vast majority of parliamentarians aware of their responsibilities
Therefore, we will not allow the Ministry’s employees or its senior officials to be threatened or intimidated by anyone while performing their duties.”
The statement stressed the Ministry of Finance's keenness "to respect the systems and laws in force in conducting communications between the various authorities in the country, and to adopt official channels of communication between them, as guaranteed by relevant regulations and instructions."
The statement stressed that “the Ministry has the right to preserve its legal right to sue those who commit defamation and false allegations, and confirm that its doors are open to everyone, and this is not limited to one group or party without the other.”
And a member of the Iraqi Parliament, Dia Al-Hindi, revealed earlier today, Monday, the promises made by the Minister of Finance, Abdul Amir Allawi, to come up with a decision regarding the appointments of graduates, after a group of parliamentarians “prevented” entering his office at the ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad, and these deputies threatened to question the minister.
And yesterday, Sunday, hundreds of medical and health professions graduates demonstrated in front of the Ministry of Finance building in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to demand the appointment.
Earlier, the Syndicate of Medical Professions confirmed that graduates of medical colleges and health institutes for the past year 2021 have not been appointed so far.
