The National Investment Commission announced, on Wednesday, the details of its discussions with the Korean Hanwha Company regarding the Basmaya residential complex, while indicating that there is a serious desire to move forward with the project and overcome all problems.
The authority said in a statement, "The joint talks between the National Investment Authority headed by Suha Daoud Najjar and the Korean side, represented by the director of Hanwha Company executing the Basmaya project and his accompanying delegation, and the presence of those concerned about the legal, financial and technical aspects of the project from both sides, were resumed."
She added, "The negotiations included a review of all the contentious points that led to the suspension of work on the project since 2019 and the consequent significant increase in the demand for housing units in the project from those deserving and willing to buy, and finding legal and financial remedies that guarantee the continuity and sustainability of the project at its full capacity of (100). A) housing units, which contributes to meeting part of the growing need for housing.
Al-Najjar stressed that "the first day of negotiations was marked by a serious desire by both parties to move forward with the project and to overcome all the problems that caused the delay in the implementation of the project according to the planned timetables," noting that this "represents a sign of hope for the sincere desire and goodwill to resume work on the project from both sides with Ensuring the rights of the government and the Iraqi citizen together.
