In a cabinet statement, he also called on all national parties to “stop the popular and media escalation, and give sufficient space for moderate proposals; to take its place in the national debate.”
He stressed that "Iraq is a trust in the necks of all of us, and the interest of our country requires everyone to give precedence to the language of dialogue, to give time and opportunity to sound national intentions, and to cut off the path to trolls of sedition and disputes."
In the context, he stressed that “state institutions and security and military agencies decided - out of national concern - not to be a party to any political dispute, and that our focus is on preventing any effects of the political crisis on people’s interests and security, and we call upon the media and cultural, social and political elites to contribute to Devoting the patriotic spirit, and not frightening people, but rather helping state institutions to carry out their tasks in serving our people, and in ensuring security and stability.”
Baghdad witnessed mass demonstrations on Wednesday (July 27, 2022), during which the demonstrators stormed the Iraqi parliament building, and withdrew after the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, asked them to do so.
