Today, Thursday, National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji discussed with the commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant-General Giovanni Inucci, security and intelligence cooperation.

The media office of the National Security Adviser said, in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that "Al-Araji received, in his office today, the commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant-General Giovanni Inucci. As well as discussing the possibility of training the Federal Police by the Italian Carabinieri, as well as cooperation in the field of intelligence and security.

He added that "Al-Araji stressed that Iraq is keen on its relationship with NATO, and seeks to reach the stage of partnership in the field of security and intelligence training with the intelligence services," noting that "the security work is not affected by the political situation, and that the internal political situation is on the way to a breakthrough."

Al-Araji pointed out at the same time that "we must establish a dialogue of civilizations instead of a clash of civilizations."

For his part, the commander of the NATO mission confirmed that "the alliance will provide support to Iraq with what it needs in the field of cybersecurity."
