Al-Amiri's alliance reveals "international pressures" to expedite the formation of the government and stabilize the situation in Iraq
Shafaq News/ Al-Fateh Alliance, which is part of the coordination framework, revealed, on Monday, "international pressures" to expedite the formation of the new Iraqi government, and to establish stability in the country.
"There are calls and international pressures for the necessity of stabilizing the situation in Iraq, and proceeding with the formation of the government," Al-Fateh MP Moeen Al-Kazemi told Shafaq News Agency.
Al-Kazemi justified these pressures by saying that "Iraq is a major source of energy by exporting 3.5 million barrels of oil per day, especially as the world is approaching the winter season."
Today, Monday 10-10, marks a full year since the early October elections, which have not yet resulted in the formation of a government due to the conflict of the political blocs.
The first months after the elections in October 2021 witnessed open sit-ins by the forces of the Shiite coordination framework, which ended after a decision of the Federal Supreme Court to ratify the election results, while the Sadrist bloc that won those elections failed to form a government of the "national majority", which prompted the leader of The Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr to withdraw from Parliament.
About 10 months after the elections, supporters of the Sadrist movement staged a sit-in in the parliament building for more than a month in protest against the nomination of Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani to head the next government, and then they stormed the Republican Palace, which ignited bloody clashes between the Armory Brigades, the military wing of the movement, and the security forces inside the Green Zone.
