, Minister of Agriculture Abbas Al-Alawi met today, Wednesday, with a delegation from the World Bank.
In the meeting, according to a statement received by Mawazine News, "the reasons that prevent the implementation of the agricultural component projects agreed upon within the World Bank loan amounts amounting to 32 million dollars for the areas affected by terrorist operations for the period from 2014 to 2016 were studied."
And the delegation indicated, "The most important problem lies in the inability to disburse the amounts set for agricultural projects due to the failure to approve the state's general budget, as well as the Corona pandemic, which disrupted state institutions at the time."
For his part, Al-Olaywi stressed "to make all possible efforts to obtain an exception for the disbursement of loan amounts from the condition of approving the budget to expedite the implementation of agricultural projects that would reduce the state of damage suffered by farmers in those areas and develop their resources and material capabilities."
