The head of the authority, Major General Omar Al-Waeli, said in a statement, "The authority has completed many electronic programs to audit commercial work inside the border crossings, and these programs were carried out with self-efforts and without contracts or imposing additional taxes on importers, based on the principle of combating corruption, preventing fraud and preserving public money. And seizing the money collected at the border crossing by the departments related to levies.
Al-Waeli added that "these programs have a role in preserving the health of the Iraqi consumer by controlling and scrutinizing the results of the pre-examination of goods imported into the country in order to ensure their suitability for human use."
He pointed out, "The completion of a program to audit books and quantities of duty-free goods because they have increased in an unprecedented manner in recent years, which has had a significant impact on sovereign revenues," stressing that "this file is continuously monitored by the cadres of the Ports Authority, which resulted in narrowing Suffocation and seizure of many fake goods, factories and factories that illegally obtained exemption books, as the file was referred to the Integrity Commission - Basra Investigation Directorate, and research is underway on the rest of these factories and factories in the rest of the provinces.
He explained that "the summary of the audit programs currently prepared by the Border Ports Authority are: (the electronic customs and tax receipt audit program, the duty-free goods audit program, the pre-examination certificates program for goods, the certification program for certificates of origin and invoices, and the border sequence audit program), which have been completed. He pointed out that "this step is the starting point for introducing electronic work into the process of commercial exchange, as the employees of the General Authority for Customs and Taxes have already entered courses at the headquarters of the Border Ports Authority, and many computers have been distributed to the customs and tax centers and units in order to work according to these programs." ".
Al-Waeli affirmed that "the authority continues to continue electronic work and coordinate with all parties operating in the ports to reach integration in work, as it is the ideal solution to combat corruption and eliminate all fraud and forgery operations."
