Today, Thursday, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, affirmed Parliament's support for the Ministry of Defense to enable it to address problems, obstacles and efforts to rebuild and restructure the military institution on correct foundations.
The media office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "Abdullah visited the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in the center of the capital, Baghdad, and met Minister Thabet Muhammad al-Absi."
The statement added that, "At the beginning of the meeting, Abdullah extended congratulations and blessings to Al-Abbasi on the occasion of his assumption of the duties of the Ministry of Defense, wishing him success in the performance of his duties and great responsibilities, while ways to enhance mechanisms of cooperation and joint coordination and integration of roles between the legislative institution and the military and security ministries were discussed."
The statement indicated that "there was talk about the necessity of handing over the camps to the army, as well as addressing the issue of the 20th Brigade and including their financial allocations within the federal budget law for 2023."
Abdullah affirmed the Parliament’s continued support to enable the ministry’s work, address problems and obstacles, and efforts to rebuild and restructure the military institution on correct and professional foundations to carry out national duties to establish security and stability throughout the country, according to the statement. finished/29/h
