President Massoud Barzani received, today, Tuesday, December 20, 2022 in Erbil, the German Consul General in Erbil, Klaus Streicher.[/size]
[size=45]During the meeting, views were exchanged on the political situation in the region in general and Iraq in particular, and shed light on the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad and the work program of the new Iraqi government.[/size]
[size=45]The two parties also confirmed in the meeting the implementation of the agreement between the Iraqi federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the implementation of the Sinjar Agreement in order to restore stability to the Sinjar region, end the displacement of its people and return them to their original home.[/size]
[size=45]The threat of terrorism was another topic of the meeting, where the German consul in Erbil confirmed that his country is still a partner and supporter of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in confronting and combating terrorism, and that the stability and progress of the Kurdistan Region is of particular importance to the stability and security of the region.[/size]
[size=45]President Barzani thanked the German government and people for their assistance to the Kurdish people in fighting terrorism, and described the relations between the Kurdish and German peoples as historical and friendly.[/size]
