    Shafaq News/ The head of the National Investment Commission, Salar Muhammad Amin, announced today, Tuesday, the signing of an agreement with the South Korean "Hanwha" company, which is implementing the Bismayah city project, which included the two parties' agreement to return to work on the Bismayah residential project, according to payment and delivery schedules for (9540) housing units in A maximum date of (18) months from the date of signing the agreement, which represented a fair solution to the previous financial dispute and the culmination of the detailed negotiations that continued over the past months.
    Amin said in a statement today that this agreement represents a roadmap for the implementation of the remainder of the project and a prelude to the conclusion of a new contract appendix that will be signed six months from now, in which a clear and accurate legal schedule for financial settlement between the two parties is taken into account, while ensuring the complete smoothness of the marketing process and in line with the growing demand. The project guarantees the availability of this housing opportunity for all segments and members of Iraqi society.



    The Chairman of the Authority praised the efforts of the legal negotiating team in the Authority and the great support he received from the members of the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee during the past year, expressing his optimism that this agreement will be a good beginning for the achievements of the Authority for the current year that we have planned and are working to witness the launch of housing projects with different capacities for the limited and middle-income. In Baghdad and the provinces.
    The statement emphasized the concerted efforts of the Commission and the Parliamentary Investment Committee to complete the Bismayah project with its full capacity (100) thousand housing units.
    The signing ceremony was attended by the general managers of the authority and the delegation accompanying the Korean side, according to the statement.
    It is noteworthy that the South Korean Hanwha Company has handed over (20) thousand housing units to the Authority and (9,540) housing units.
    And the National Investment Commission had announced, in November 2022, that it had received a delegation from the Korean “Hanwha” company to complete the construction of the Bismayah residential city, for the purpose of addressing all the problems and accumulations that occurred in the past.
    It is noteworthy that the residents of the Basmaya residential complex in Baghdad organized, last October, several demonstrations to protest against the policy of the Investment Authority, which prompted the Korean company "Hanwha" to withdraw from the completion of the complex project, which is the first and best housing project in Iraq. Implemented in 2012.
