Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, said on Sunday that his government is working to ensure the independence of the Iraqi judiciary and maintain its prestige, while the Supreme Judicial Council affirmed its support for the government in implementing its program and the reforms it is carrying out at various levels.
This came during his visit this morning to the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court in Baghdad, where Al-Sudani met with the President of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Jassim Muhammad Abboud, and members of the court, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Media Office.

During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed the importance of the word of law being applied in all circumstances, and that the government confirms in all its steps that Iraq is a country governed by the constitution and the law.
For his part, the President of the Federal Court stressed the importance of consolidating the supremacy of the word of law above all, and for the judiciary to be the bulwark that guarantees the basis for achieving the will of the Iraqi people, stressing the government's support for implementing its governmental program.
Al-Sudani also visited the Supreme Judicial Council and met with the President of the Council, Judge Faeq Zaidan, and a number of court presidents. He affirmed his support for the judicial authority in all its institutions, and its support in order to carry out its full legal and constitutional role, especially in the files of combating administrative and financial corruption.
