On Wednesday, the Ministry of Electricity announced new projects in four governorates, while confirming that it had taken measures to solve bottlenecks in preparation for next summer.
General Manager of the General Company for Energy Transmission, Central Region, Riyad Oraibi, said, "Wasat Transport is working on implementing projects in 4 governorates (Baghdad, Wasit, Diyala, and Anbar)," noting that "there are strategic actions aimed at resolving bottlenecks in preparation for the summer."
Oreibi added, in an interview with the official news agency, that "many lines and stations have been completed, and mobile phones have been manufactured," pointing out that "the works were carried out with the expertise and efficiency of the Ministry of Electricity's staff through the exploitation of existing and surplus equipment."
He continued, "The link project with neighboring countries, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, is hoped to be completed in the coming years, in addition to projects linking the neighborhood lines, Al-Bu'itha areas, Ksaiba and Al-Salman areas, and many other projects," stressing "the sector's readiness to solve bottlenecks next summer, and the plan is in two phases, The first is the reliability of the work of the current network, while the second stage includes identifying bottleneck areas and finding processors by adding transformers or transfers or extending lines commensurate with the bottleneck size.
For his part, the General Manager of the General Company for Central Electricity Distribution, Alaa Samir, stated that "many stations have been completed, with 8 stations in 3 governorates of Wasit, Diyala and Anbar," noting that "the summer plan of this year includes operating 12 stations and installing six mobile phones in three different governorates." As well as rehabilitating networks and removing bottlenecks in feeders 33 and 11.
He pointed out that "the plan includes the distribution of 4 new stations in Wasit and 4 in Diyala, in addition to 4 other stations in Anbar, in addition to 6 mobile stations, 2 in Anbar Governorate, 3 in Wasit, and 2 in Diyala."
