    On Thursday, the House of Representatives held its fifth session for the second legislative year.

    And the media department of the parliament stated in a statement, which "NAS" received a copy of, (February 9, 2023), "The House of Representatives held its session headed by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi."  
      
    Subsequently, the department announced, “The Council has completed the first reading of the draft law, the first amendment to the draft law supporting small income-generating projects, the draft law ratifying the investment promotion and protection agreement between the government of the Republic of Iraq and the government of the United Arab Emirates, and the first reading of the draft law ratifying the agreement to avoid double taxation.” and the exchange of information regarding taxes on income and capital between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the protocol attached thereto.  
      
    And she added, "The Council also completed the first reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the International Convention on Intervention on the High Seas in the Event of Accidents Causing Oil Pollution of 1969 and the Protocol Related to Intervention on the High Seas in Cases of Pollution with Substances Other than Oil of 1973, and the first reading of the draft ratification law." Agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of evasion from paying taxes imposed on income and capital between the government of the Republic of Iraq and the government of the Republic of Turkey, and the first reading of the draft law ratifying the Arab Protocol to Prevent and Combat Maritime Piracy and Armed Robbery annexed and complementary to the Arab Convention on Combating Transnational Organized Crime.  
      
    And she indicated, “The Council finished the first reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the agreement establishing the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the year 1990, and the first reading of the draft law ratifying the cooperation agreement between the government of the Republic of Iraq and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of maritime transport, and the first reading of the draft law ratifying the agreement To avoid double taxation with regard to taxes on income on capital and to prevent tax evasion and evasion between the government of the Republic of Iraq and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  
      
    The Media Department of the House of Representatives announced, earlier, the agenda of the parliament session for next Thursday, which included 9 paragraphs.
