    Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -A report from the French Capital, Paris, confirmed that “The Iraqi Young woman, Riyam Naji Ajmi, has won the Loryal- UNESCO prize for Women in Science.”
    Riyam has a PHD in sciences and teaches at the Biology Department within the Mustansiriya University in Baghdad. She was born in Shatra city of Dhi-Qar province. The grant she won will allow her join the Queens University in Canada to conduct researchers over environment and pollution by using geographic information systems and remote sensors.

    Ajmi was wearing the Iraqi traditional costumes, known as (Hashimi) and raised the Iraqi flag when she went on the stage to receive the prize. She seemed so proud to raise the Iraqi flag which reminded her of this habit when she was a student at the Makarim Primary School for Girls in Shatra district.
