The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities is seeking to establish a special fund for the maintenance of roads and bridges, while it is preparing to prepare a white list of discreet contracting companies to have priority in implementing upcoming ministerial projects. The Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, Benkin Rikani, told Al-Sabah that the ministry held a meeting of the opinion committee in order to take important decisions that contribute to the completion of projects after submitting the budget to Parliament in preparation for its approval. He indicated that approving the budget will place a great responsibility on the ministry in implementing projects and achieving the aspirations of citizens. Rikani pointed out that the ministry is in the process of approaching the concerned authorities with a view to establishing a special fund for the maintenance of roads and bridges. Rikani warned that the ministry will not allow any delay in the work progress schedule or delay in preparing reports on the bi-monthly positions of projects because of their importance in evaluating work and addressing imbalances.
