The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities is seeking to establish a special fund for the maintenance of roads and bridges, while preparing to prepare a "white list" of discreet contracting companies to have priority in the implementation of upcoming ministerial projects.
The Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, Benkin Rikani, said, "The ministry held a meeting for the opinion body in order to take important decisions that contribute to the completion of projects after submitting the budget to the House of Representatives in preparation for its approval," noting that "approving the budget will place a great responsibility on the ministry in implementing projects and achieving the aspirations of citizens." In an interview with the official Al-Sabah newspaper, which
was followed by Mawazine News, Rikani added, "The ministry is in the process of approaching the concerned authorities with the aim of establishing a special fund for the maintenance of roads and bridges."
And he continued, "The ministry will not allow any delay in the work progress schedule or delay in preparing reports on the bi-monthly positions of projects because of their importance in evaluating work and addressing defects," noting that "the ministry is working on preparing a white list of discreet contracting companies for the purpose of supporting them from By giving it priority in the implementation of the next ministerial projects.
