Al-Sudani directs that utmost importance be given to the “Riyada” initiative.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, during his presidency, yesterday, Sunday, of the fifth session of the Supreme Commission for Coordination between the governorates not associated with a region, directed the governors to give more importance to the (Riyada) initiative, which is related to the rehabilitation and employment of youth, which the government began implementing last month.
The session witnessed, according to a statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office, "a review of the monthly status of the implementation of service projects in the governorates, as well as a discussion of the topics on the agenda and decision-making in their regard."
The session included "hosting the head of the Independent High Electoral Commission, and discussing the most important needs and requirements of the provinces for the provincial council elections scheduled to be held at the end of this year."
And based on the directives of the Prime Minister during the first session of the Supreme Committee for Water, and the recommendations issued by it, the Supreme Commission for Coordination between the governorates not associated with a region obligated the governorates to “water shares approved by the Ministry of Water Resources, and to adhere to the agricultural plan and the directives of the Council of Ministers and sectoral authorities during the summer, Encouraging farmers to acquire modern irrigation systems, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, and allocating a security force to assist the various sectoral agencies to implement the removal of excesses on all rivers.
It also obligated the authority to "support the governorates to support the projects of the Ministry of Water Resources related to organizing and developing irrigation, and reducing pollution of river water through the implementation of sewage treatment plants projects and not throwing solid waste into its streams, and considering information related to the water situation as sensitive and preventing its circulation to the public."
During the session, it was decided that the Ministry of Finance would present tables of the amounts allocated in its accounts, which relate to the amounts of road and bridge maintenance fees in the governorates.
And in implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives to support the retirees segment, which falls within the priorities of the government program, the authority voted to give priority to the retirees segment in inclusion of housing projects in new cities in the governorates. Governorates not organized in a region No. (21 of 2008), amended, regarding the number of assistants to the governor and his advisory board, and extending the work of the committee to amend the law of governorates not organized in a region No. (21 of 2008), for thirty days.
