Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadel agreed with Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman, today, Wednesday, to expand the joint electrical connection points.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmed Moussa, said in a statement, "The Minister of Electricity, Ziyad Ali Fadel, made an official visit to Riyadh at the head of a ministerial delegation, accompanied by the Prime Minister's Advisor for Energy Affairs, Imad Al-Alaq, and the Iraqi ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and he met with the Saudi Energy Minister, Abdulaziz bin Salman." .
Al-Abadi explained, "During the meeting, it was agreed to initiate the electrical connection, expand the connection point, which is the Arar station, and establish the conveyor line, and the readiness of the two parties to complete the procedures of ACWA Power."
And the Minister of Electricity stated during the meeting, according to the statement, that "there is a great interest that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani attaches to strengthening partnerships with the Kingdom," noting "the serious direction of the government and the ministry to work to achieve qualitative gains to support the energy file."
According to the statement, the minister touched on "three important axes, which are the agendas of the visit:
the first is the initiation and launch of the (Iraqi-Saudi electrical interconnection) project, which is an important reason for the exchange of energy benefits.
The second: the completion of the partnership project with the (ACWA Power) company to install a station to generate electricity from energy." The third: Benefiting from their successful experience in installing meters
and limiting energy losses.
He pointed out that "it was agreed to form a joint working group to be concerned with the unified development of participants." Ended 29/N33
