    Today, Friday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the start of implementing the electronic ration card system in Duhok Governorate.
    And the ministry's media stated, in a statement received by (Baghdad Today), that "the Planning and Follow-up Department in the Ministry of Commerce announced the start of work and the implementation of the electronic ration card system in Dohuk Governorate, northern Iraq." 
    He added, "The application of the ration card automation system comes in implementation of the directives of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the directives of the Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairy, after the success of implementing it in Najaf Governorate." 
    He explained that "the electronic card system is an easy-to-use and accessible system, so any citizen can download the applications related to the system and log in to conduct and implement the transaction related to splitting, transferring, adding and other transactions related to the work of supply centers." 
    He pointed out that "if the project is implemented in all governorates, the work system will be transformed from paper to the electronic work system, through which citizens' transactions will be completed with full transparency and accuracy." 
    The ministry called, according to the statement, "citizens to speed up updating their data, cooperate with work teams, and review data update centers in the governorate to ensure that the data update process takes place within the specified period."
    And he continued, "The Director General, accompanied by the Deputy Director General of the Commercial and Financial Control Department in the Ministry, inspected each of the food stores in the governorate to see the available stock of food basket materials, and the governorate's silos to indicate the extent of their readiness to receive the local wheat material that the farmers will market to the sites affiliated with a trading company." Cereals during the 2023 marketing season, which is hoped to start in Dohuk Governorate during the coming period.
