The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs included drug addicts and voluntary returnees among the categories eligible for soft loans to open their own projects.
The Director of the Department of Labor and Vocational Training in the Ministry, Raed Jabbar Bahed, told Al-Sabah: The Ministry worked on preparing an integrated plan in which it included the two categories of drug addicts and voluntary returnees, with soft loans in order to help them open their own projects, indicating that the plan included putting them in In integrated training courses in various specialties and according to the requirements of the labor market, stressing that large numbers of these two groups have been trained during the past days in order to ensure that they receive full support for their reintegration into society.
He noted that the qualified will be granted certificates of participation in these courses to employ them and grant them the aforementioned loans, in addition to their inclusion in the services provided by the Ministry in its various aspects.
Bahedh pointed out that the amount allocated to the Department of Labor and Vocational Training in order to provide loans amounts to 400 billion dinars and is within the general budget that is expected to be approved in the coming days, explaining that the government has drawn up sustainable development plans to advance the economic reality and provide suitable job opportunities for young people to empower them economically.
He pointed to the necessity of regulating the labor sector, and providing the necessary support to the Lending Fund, which provides soft and income-generating loans, as well as business incubator loans that are granted without interest to job seekers registered in the ministry's database in Baghdad and the provinces, provided that there are real projects on the ground. Indeed, stressing that the lending programs must be matched by modern and pioneering projects that are implemented by young people, in return they are provided with a consulting service and direct supervision by the Ministry of Labor.
