    Over two consecutive days, the House of Representatives held intensive sessions and long hours in order to pass the federal budget law for three years, but it was unable to vote on all the articles so far, and only 13 articles out of 67 were voted on.
    “All deferred points in the 2023 budget will be re-voted,” confirmed a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Mudar Al-Karwi, to (Baghdad Today).
    Al-Karawi said, “There are no meetings of the Parliamentary Finance Committee today, and the session will take place as scheduled this evening,” stressing that “all political forces agree to pass the budget despite the existence of differences in some of its items.”
    And he added, "The points postponed in yesterday's session will be re-introduced today with the possibility of amending them according to what leads to resolving the differences that were behind the postponement," describing "today's session as" crucial "to pass the budget in the event of continuing political consensus."
    Al-Karawi added, "The budget guaranteed the rights of many segments, ministries, and institutions, and raised the size of the region's development budget to more than 3 trillion."
    The House of Representatives adjourned its session to five o'clock this evening, Saturday, after voting on a number of articles of the draft budget law.
    The (Baghdad Today) correspondent said, “The House of Representatives raises its session to five o’clock this evening, Saturday, after it voted unanimously on the text of Article Two of the budget after the amendment, and on Articles 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the draft law, while it postponed voting on Articles 14 And 15, 16 and 17 of the draft budget law.
    He continued, and the Council also voted on Articles 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 of the budget.
    For its part, parliamentary sources revealed, yesterday, Friday, the details of the consultations that took place on the articles related to the Kurdistan region in the draft general budget law, and an agreement was reached to make amendments to 3 of its paragraphs.
    The sources stated, "With regard to the agreement regarding saved salaries, the provinces' dealings with the federal government, and the extraction of oil from Kirkuk and Nineveh, according to the agreement, the paragraph related to returning 10% of the saved salaries to employees of the Kurdistan region will be deleted."
    And she added, "With regard to the dealings of the governorates of the Kurdistan region with the federal government, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani will solve this issue through dialogue with the Kurdistan Regional Government."
    And about the extraction of oil from the fields of the provinces of Kirkuk and Nineveh by the Kurdistan region, the sources said, "an agreement not to include the current fields."
