    Economy News-Baghdad
Today, Tuesday, the Association of Travel and Tourism Companies in Iraq called for the continuation of the single window to ensure the rights of private sector companies.
The head of the association, Haider Al-Dujaili, said in a statement received by "Al-Iqtisad News": "The administrative body of the Association of Travel and Tourism Companies in Iraq held an expanded meeting at its headquarters in Baghdad, in the presence of the Religious Tourism Committee and all directors of religious tourism companies operating in Iraq."
He added, "The meeting witnessed detailed discussions of the directives of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, regarding the entry of 100,000 Pakistani visitors during the Arbaeen visit, and the government decision issued, which includes canceling the sovereign visa fee for them, amounting to ($40). In that the procedure for raising the sovereign fee does not mean canceling the work mechanism by obtaining entry approvals from the Tourism Authority through the single window to guarantee the rights of the private sector represented by religious tourism companies operating in this activity.
Al-Dujaili demanded, "The work mechanism must continue to provide guarantees exclusively through the one-stop-shop, guaranteeing the rights of companies and not subjecting them to material losses after booking travel tickets, hotels and transportation," noting that "all our companies have prepaid all tourism fees and services."
Al-Dujaili called on "the concerned authorities in the Iraqi government to instruct the Iraqi embassy in Pakistan not to use the guarantees granted to companies by granting direct entry visas and to make granting visas through the one-stop shop exclusively, as the work of guaranteeing our companies from the embassy was refused, which may cause large material losses for companies and cause confusion for the work of Companies with the approaching season of the fortieth visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
