{Politics: Al-Furat News} Iran announced that Iraq provided information it described as “very good” in eliminating terrorist groups near its borders.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian said in a press conference with his Iraqi counterpart, Fouad Hussein, who arrived in Tehran this morning, “We held important discussions about the full implementation of the security agreement between the two countries. Iran is serious about ensuring the country’s national security, and we are pleased that high-level officials in the Iraqi government Today, Fouad Hussein provided very good information regarding the removal of terrorist groups from areas close to Iran’s borders, their transfer deep into Iraqi territory in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, efforts to disarm them, and the full implementation of the terms of the security agreement between the two countries.”
He stressed that "the next steps will be fully implemented in the coming days within the framework of the security agreement."
Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein said, "We talked to the security agreement between Iraq and Iran, and the groups on the Iraqi-Iranian border were disarmed."
He added, "The Iraqi constitution affirms that it does not allow any group to launch attacks on other countries," noting that "our relationship with Iran is good and we have multiple means to resolve differences."
Hussein called on "countries to adopt resolutions that prevent infringement of the holy books."
It is noteworthy that, on March 19, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani sponsored the signing of a joint security report between Iraq and Iran, which was signed on the Iraqi side by National Security Advisor Qassem al-Araji, and on the Iranian side by Ali Shamkhani.
According to the Sudanese office, the minutes include “coordination in protecting the common borders between the two countries, and consolidating joint cooperation in several security fields.
