Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: A member of the Parliamentary Transport Committee, Aqeel Al-Fatlawi, confirmed on Wednesday that his committee will submit an oral question to the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority next week.
Al-Fatlawi said, “The successive heads of the Civil Aviation Authority who managed the important institution were not at the level of ambition, especially the current head of the authority, despite the institution’s connection to the Council of Ministers,” noting that “Iraqi airports lived through the worst period during their association with the Civil Aviation Authority.”
He added, “The House of Representatives’ decision to transfer the airport management file to the Ministry of Transport instead of the Civil Aviation Authority, through which we hope that the ministry will improve the conditions of Iraqi airports, whether governmental or invested, while continuing our work in monitoring and follow-up.”
He pointed out that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani’s visit to Baghdad International Airport months ago and his decision to relieve the administration did not yield anything in light of inaction by the Aviation Authority and its head,” stressing that “his committee will address an oral question to the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority next week regarding Delayed coming to the House of Representatives to answer.”
