The Election Commission intends to conduct a simulation of the electoral process for the second time at the end of this month of September, while indicating its approval of the final models of ballot papers. The head of the Commission’s media team, Imad Jamil, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “What distinguishes the second simulation process from the first that took place is Last week, we doubled the number of stations for public voting from 906 stations to 1,812 stations, with two stations in each polling station, as well as doubling the stations for private voting from 42 to 121 stations.”Jameel added, “The same software that was used in the first simulation process, which is electronic voting, counting, and sorting, will be used in the second, with the addition of the transmission process via the transmission medium,” indicating that “the transmission medium is the satellite that transmits the results from the polling stations to the servers, and it is very secure.” It cannot be hacked, as evidenced by the fact that the previous elections did not show any hacked station, in addition to the fact that during the election day, the Commission will carry out electronic counting and sorting operations and then send them through the transmission medium, and then conduct manual counting and sorting operations for all stations.”
The spokesman continued by saying, “A tape of the results will be hung at each station, and there is a program that will be designed and placed on the phones of observers of the electoral process that contains all the station’s results and their details once a picture of the tape is taken, so that the Commission, with this measure, will move away from granting the results to a number of them, so that objections will arise from the rest as well.” It happened before."
The head of the media team explained that "the cameras in the stations will transmit audio and video from the beginning of the poll until the end of the counting and sorting operations and the announcement of the results at the stations in a precedent that is the first of its kind in Iraq."
