Today, Friday (October 13, 2023), the representative of the Ishraqa Canon parliamentary bloc, Haider Muhammad Al-Mutairi, revealed the latest developments regarding the amount that the International Arbitration Tribunal of the Paris Chamber of Commerce ruled in favor of Iraq regarding the issue of exporting oil through Turkey.
Al-Mutairi said in a blog post on Facebook, followed by “Baghdad Today,” that “more than 3 billion US dollars is the amount that the international arbitration panel of the Paris Chamber of Commerce ruled in favor of Iraq regarding the case of Turkey’s violation of the Iraqi-Turkish Pipeline Agreement of 1973.”
He added, "After the matter was opened and followed up by us, the legal department at the Ministry of Oil informed us to take the necessary legal measures to implement the arbitration decision through the consulting offices contracted with the Ministry and charged with representing Iraq in the above arbitration case, and the procedures are still being followed."
