    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
An informed source revealed today, Saturday (November 4, 2023), that the Ministerial Council for National Security will hold a meeting within the next 72 hours to discuss 3 important files.
The source told "Baghdad Today", "According to the information, the Ministerial Security Council will hold an expanded meeting in the next 72 hours to discuss 3 important files, the most prominent of which are the developments taking place in the Middle East region after the events of October 7 (the Al-Aqsa flood) and the genocide operations that Gaza is being subjected to." massacre by Israeli forces with the support of the United States.”
He added, "The meeting will discuss the issue of Iraqi factions repeatedly bombing Israeli targets and bases where American forces are deployed in Anbar, Erbil and Syria, and its repercussions on the internal file in light of the escalation of the crisis and the possibility that the entire region will witness strong tremors."
He pointed out that "all expectations are that the Council will issue a series of decisions to control the pace of internal events and seek to calm the matter to avoid its developments leading to reactions that may create another crisis deep inside Iraq and lead everyone to a difficult and complex situation, especially in light of accelerating events that cannot be predicted." .
Leaked military documents revealed that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, had directed the country’s armed forces to take “precautionary” measures in view of the current circumstances that the country is going through through the acceleration of urgent and ongoing security and regional events and changes.
The directives in the leaked document, a copy of which was obtained by Baghdad Today, included “distributing tanks and deploying Iraqi aircraft and weapons, in addition to securing an alternative transportation network for headquarters, and protecting all warehouses.”
The document also included directives for the Iraqi intelligence services, the most important of which is activating and examining all technical surveillance resources and ensuring their validity.
The orders stressed prison security and “absolutely not tolerating any breach.”
