The head of the organizing body of the Popular Movement for the Belt and Road, Hussein Ali Jassim, revealed on Thursday that there are three heavy charges awaiting the ousted Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi.
Jassim said in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, “At least three charges awaiting Al-Halbousi will lead him to prison,” pointing out that “the movement directed all representations to quickly provide evidence.”
He added, "Al-Halbousi will face charges of forgery, working to disrupt national interests, harming the work of the House of Representatives, and stopping the implementation of the Belt and Road project for the benefit of regional and foreign countries."
He pointed out that "Al-Halbousi is still awaiting several cases regarding fraud and inflation of funds during his rule as Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives."
The spokesman for the popular legal movement, Muhammad al-Sahhaf, had vowed to legally prosecute the ousted Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, indicating that prosecuting the normalizers had become popular demands, especially with the entity’s crimes in Gaza.
