Representative from Al-Halbousi Party: Complaints against “progress” are political and a media whirlwind

Shafaq News/ On Thursday, the representative of the “Taqaddum” parliamentary bloc, Fahd Al-Rashed, considered the complaints submitted to dissolve his party political and a media whirlwind that will not affect the party.
Al-Rashed told Shafaq News Agency, “The complaints submitted against the Taqadum Party mean nothing to us, and we believe in the judiciary and the decisions of the Federal Court.”
He added, "The complaints filed against the party are political and will not affect the party and its leadership. They are merely a media whirlwind and an attempt to destabilize the electoral situation among the masses of the Taqadum Party, especially with the proximity of the provincial council elections, and the lion's share of voters' votes will go to the party."
Earlier today, the Director-General of the Department of Political Parties and Organizations Affairs at the Independent High Electoral Commission, Hemin Tahseen Hamid, filed a complaint to dissolve the “Taqaddum” party, which is led by the outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi.
According to the request appended by Hamid’s signature dated November 30 and addressed to the Judicial Authority for Elections, the complaint was based on Al-Halbousi contracting with the American company (BGR) and sending money to the latter without the knowledge and approval of the Department of Political Parties and Organizations Affairs.
He pointed out that the recommendations of the committee formed by the department concluded that the matter should be referred to the judicial body for elections in the Commission, and the appropriate decision should be issued, based on the articles of the Political Parties Law No. 36 of 2015.
