    [size=45]Yesterday, Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim considered that the most prominent achievement awaiting the ministry in 2024 is conducting the general census of population and housing in Iraq. The Ministry of Planning stated in a statement received by (Al-Mada), that “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim chaired, yesterday, Sunday, the twenty-second meeting of the National Committee for Population Policies in Iraq, which includes a number of undersecretaries and general directors in ministries and unrelated entities.” In the Ministry concerned with the population policy file.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement added, “The most prominent achievement that awaits us in the coming year, 2024, is the conduct of the general census of population and housing,” calling on state institutions and civil society organizations to “support the efforts of the Ministry of Planning to make the census successful, because of the great importance it represents, linked to the formulation of future population policies in the country.” Iraq".[/size]
    [size=45]Tamim pointed out “the need for ministries to cooperate in pursuing the achievement of the objectives of the National Document for Population Policy by integrating the objectives of the document’s axes into the development plans of the ministries.” In addition, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Maher Hammad Johan, reviewed “the recommendations of the Supreme Population Council that it made at its fourth session held last October, and the mechanisms for following up on the implementation of those recommendations.” He also reviewed “the recommendations issued by the coordination meeting between the countries of the Arab Council for Population and Development to exchange experiences.” And knowledge about population issues and mechanisms for following up on the implementation of international commitments, which was held in Baghdad last May.”[/size]
