    Both Iran and Turkey announced their intention to increase the volume of joint trade to reach $30 billion annually, by strengthening banking and customs cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of gas, energy, electricity, transit, and developing border trade.
    This came during a meeting between Turkish Assistant Foreign Minister Ahmed Yildiz and Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safri in Tehran, according to IRNA.
    The two sides stressed the presence of a decisive will on the part of the presidents of the two countries to raise the level of economic relations. The Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister also raised the problems that hinder the activity of truck drivers at the Bazargan-Gurbulagh border (northwest), calling on the directors of the border crossings in both countries to intensify mutual visits and determine procedures to facilitate movement. Trucks.
    The Iranian official praised the distinguished status of his country and Turkey, their complementary role, and the two countries' need for each other in the fields of transit and shipping, stressing the need to intensify cooperation between the relevant ministries of the two countries.
    For his part, Turkish Assistant Foreign Minister Ahmed Yildiz pointed out the importance of the leadership role of the Iranian and Turkish Foreign Ministries, in the context of motivating other relevant ministries and institutions for constructive bilateral cooperation.
    On the other hand, the Foreign Ministers of Iran and Turkey, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and Hakan Fidan, had stressed the necessity of continuing and developing diplomatic consultations and efforts on the regional and international arenas, to pressure Israel to accept a ceasefire and stop the war in the Gaza Strip.
    The Iranian "Tasnim" agency reported that the two ministers, Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Hakan Fidan, exchanged, during a phone call between them, earlier this month, views on some issues on the agenda of bilateral and regional relations, especially the continuation of Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.
