    Today, Monday (January 1, 2024), Member of the House of Representatives, Thaer Al-Jubouri, described the Wisdom Road project as the “Iraqi Silk Road,” and in what he listed as the most prominent events in Iraq in the year 2023, he predicted 4 important achievements for the government in 2024.
    Al-Jubouri said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “the year 2023 witnessed many security, political and economic events, but the most prominent of them is the announcement of the development road project, which represents the Iraqi Silk Road, in its general sense, because it will create a fundamental change in the map of global transport routes and contribute to attracting investments.” International, especially since the factors for his success are so great that it prompted more than 30 countries to pay attention and knock on Baghdad’s doors to have contributions to his projects.”
    He added, "Negative events are limited in Iraq during the year 2023, related to security breaches, but they are the least compared to previous years, with the Interior Ministry report indicating that attacks were reduced by half," stressing that "this year is a year of political stability par excellence, unlike the rest of the other years." “This is an important matter in Iraq, especially with its recent democratic experience.”
    Al-Jubouri pointed out that “the country is awaiting four achievements that will see the light in the year 2024, the most prominent of which are projects in the capital, including bridges and others in the rest of the governorates, the completion of some stages of the large Al-Faw port, and the announcement of the start of the initial stages of the development road, in addition to launching a series of investment projects with a strategic dimension in Housing, agriculture, industry and oil.
    In 2023, Iraq revealed an ambitious plan to develop its railway and road infrastructure on what it called the “development road” to become a regional transportation center linking Europe and the Gulf.
    The project witnesses the participation of 10 regional countries, namely: Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the Emirates, Bahrain, and Iran.
