    Economy News - Baghdad

[rtl]The Prime Minister's Advisor for Transport Affairs, Nasser Al-Asadi, revealed on Tuesday the latest developments in the "Baghdad Metro" project, while noting that its length is 148 km, among the number of stations used in the project.[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Asadi told the official newspaper, followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that “several previously proposed projects were collected in the (Baghdad Metro) project, which will cover an area of 85% of Baghdad,” noting that “the length of the project is 148 km, distributed among 64 stations, including 8 stations.” To move between lanes, 4 crossings will be between Al-Karkh and Al-Rusafa.”[/rtl]

[rtl]He added, "The path will cover all places in Baghdad, including tourist areas and universities, as well as Islamic and Christian religious shrines, shopping centers, government ministries, relevant departments, hospitals, and all events located within the capital, Baghdad."[/rtl]

[rtl]He stated, "There is a path that connects to Baghdad International Airport, linked to four of the eight paths, so that the traveler's transportation process from any area in Baghdad to the airport is easy and smooth."[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Asadi explained, “The number of passengers (Baghdad Metro) is estimated at 5 million passengers daily, and this percentage is very large, as it is known that the percentage of passengers on trains does not exceed 20% of the city’s population, but the method of planning the project will cover an area greater than this.”[/rtl]

[rtl]He warned that "the train will be of international standards without a driver, so that its safety rates will be very high. It will take the main streets in Baghdad, and the stations will be in the middle of the road, with a bridge covering both sides of the road."[/rtl]
