    [size=45]The Ministry of Finance announced the adoption of an action plan to address weaknesses within the customs sector.[/size]
    [size=45]A statement from the ministry stated, “In confirmation of the government’s approach to continuing the financial and economic reform package, including the customs sector, the Ministry of Finance adopted a clear action plan towards addressing weaknesses within the sector as a result of the delay in introducing modern technology in accordance with international standards in the work of the Customs Authority.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “The Ministry has set within its work plan the reform and modernization of customs performance methods in partnership and cooperation with international organizations in accordance with solid international systems, including the global ASYCUDA system, which was recently implemented at the Umm Qasr Port Customs Center.”[/size]
    [size=45]According to the statement, the Ministry affirmed “its continued implementation of the system at all land, sea and air ports and customs centers in Iraq without exception,” reiterating “the note that this system has previously been implemented at the Baghdad International Airport Customs Center / Air Cargo and is implemented with high efficiency and smoothness and from Without any hesitation or delay.”[/size]
    [size=45]It indicated that it is “committed, in accordance with the fixed and accelerated steps it has prepared, to implement it in all regions, customs centers and other departments, without exception.”[/size]
    [size=45]It is noteworthy that the General Authority of Customs denied in a statement that the allegations that talk about the presence of an overcrowding of containers in its customs centers due to delays in the electronic system implemented by the authority were incorrect, stressing that all its procedures are carried out smoothly and easily according to regular and transparent standards.[/size]
