A high-level political source said today, Monday, that the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, intends to go to the Islamic Republic of Iran on an official visit.
The source said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “There is an expected visit by the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, to Tehran next week.”
He added, "The visit comes to improve relations and restore relations to their previous state, as well as to end the opposition file on the border and within the Kurdistan region."
The territory of the Kurdistan region includes many Kurdish parties opposed to Iran and Turkey, which makes Iraq an arena for liquidation and fighting and exposes its national security to danger, as a result of the Kurdistan authorities not agreeing to deploy Iraqi forces on the northern border to seize the lands and clear them of terrorist groups.
