The Iraqi Parliament, yesterday, Sunday, completed the first amendment to the law regulating the rent of agricultural lands and granting the right to dispose of them for agricultural and veterinary graduates.
The law regulating the rent of agricultural lands aims to include graduates of the agricultural departments of technical and technical institutes and agricultural preparatory schools for renting agricultural lands and owning the right to dispose of them.
Member of the Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshlands Committee, Rafiq Al-Salhi, detailed the privileges of amending the law on leasing agricultural lands, pointing out that Law 35 allows for leasing agricultural lands.
Al-Salhi told Mawazine News, “The law serves an important segment of agricultural engineers and farmers and prolongs the contract for leasing agricultural land,” noting that “Land Law No. 35 is fair to the Iraqi farmer, and there are several positive points, the most important of which is the contract is for a period of 25 years after it was Renewed annually.
In turn, a member of the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee, Abdul Hadi Al-Abbasi, confirmed that the law regulating the rent of agricultural lands will contribute to increasing production and supporting the national product.
Al-Abbasi told Mawazine News, “The House of Representatives has completed the first amendment to the law regulating the leasing of agricultural lands and granting the right to dispose of them for agricultural and veterinary graduates.”
He added, "This law will contribute to increasing and organizing agricultural production during the coming period."
Al-Abbasi pointed out that “the Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshlands Committee will work to follow up on the implementation of the law in support of the segments covered by its jurisprudence in coordination with the relevant authorities.”
